'Good Things Come To Those Who Make'; letterpressed lino print
'Good Things Come To Those Who Make' describes the motivation behind all of my work; a belief that that making or creating things by hand is good for the soul. I have carved all sorts of tools, from a needle and thread for those who like to sew, to a wooden spoon for the bakers and cooks. There is of course a lino carving tool in amongst them; the very thing I used to create the image.
I made up a little poem to go with it, which I type set at Tilley Printing of Ledbury. Martin Clark printed these for me on the Heidelburg press. The print measures 34.5cm wide by 22.7cm tall.
This two colour print will have natural inky imperfections, and each print will be slightly different from the next; which is all part of the joy of printmaking. The print is signed.
