'Nested Frame' artwork

'Nested Frame' artworks describe a new collection of twelve patterned frames, that are available on enquiry. These are bespoke, oak frames, designed by me and made by hand in Gloucestershire to my design. Please contact me if you are interested.

As a designer of lino printed patterns, I discovered I was always holding my designs up to imagine them as wallpaper, or I was tucking them behind other artworks to create a patterned background. I slowly realised I love combining two images together, using pattern as a frame. So, after a lot of prototyping, I designed this ‘Nested Frame’, that encapsulates one of my hand carved lino block patterns, printed on cotton rag paper, under the glass. This is sealed in, to create a patterned frame.

The smaller aperture; a second oak frame, features an original artwork, made by hand, by me. I make collages with inked papers, combined with drawing, and sometimes printing. Should you ever want to swap out the inner image, say, for a photograph, just remove the back. The frame can hang on the wall, or can be freestanding using the screw-in support.
